According to statistics released by the French Steel Federation (FFA), France's crude steel production totaled 11,901,000 tons in the January-September period, down by 1.27% year on year.
In the given period of time, the crude steel output from electric arc furnace (EAF) totaled 4,180,000 tons, decreasing by 10.93%; that from blast furnace (BF) was at 7,721,000 tons, rising by 4.89%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
In September alone, France's crude steel output totaled 1,373,000 tons, rising by 7.43% year on year, including 514,000 tons from EAFs and 857,000 tons were BFs.
